Pediatric Massage Therapy
Pediatric massage therapy also known as children’s massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissue intended to promote health and well-being for infants and children. The ancient wisdom of pediatric massage therapy has been shown to improve overall health benefits at every stage of life and for all ages. In fact, children can respond very positively with fast recovery to massage therapy.
Pediatric Massage therapy for Children’s Chronic Ailments
Children suffering from asthma, allergies, diabetes or arthritic problems often respond positively to pediatric massage therapy. Children also show extensive benefits from pediatric massage therapy when they suffer hyperactivity disorders and other psychiatric symptoms or autistic behaviors.
Pediatric massage therapy can reduce their pain, discomfort, physically and emotionally, anxiety, depression and irritation. All these can be relieved or lessened by pediatric massage therapy which could help prevent the potential development of illness.
Infant Weight Gain
Premature Bbabies often struggle to gain weight. Pediatric massage therapy helps release growth hormone, increase blood flow, oxygen, muscle activities and other necessary factors to encourage gain weight and aid development of the brain and vital organs.
Relaxation to Strengthen the Immune System
Children can also experience anxiety such as leaving their parents, starting kindergarten, changing schools, bullied by other kids or other life-changing events in their life with which they need to cope.
Pediatric massage therapy has been established as an antidote to reduce stress, encourage relaxation of the mind and body, facilitate emotional stability and empower the immune system. This is crucial during the school-age years when children are bombard by a wide range of pathogens and many daily stressful situations.
Supporting the Digestion System
Tummy aches, colic, indigestion, constipation or diarrhea, food intolerance or sensitive and allergies are common complaints that worry children and their parents.
Pediatric massage therapy is an effective way to alleviate these symptoms and reinstall the functions of their digestion system. Also, parents can learn how to massage their children at home to speed up the healing process and reduce another missed day of school.

(1) A 3 month old infant presented with torticollis, the baby’s face, neck looked asymmetric because he was only sleeping on the right side, and cried once he was put to lay on his left side. With a few treatments, the baby was able to sleep on both sides without cries. This could prevent the shape of the skull being distorted that may cause cranial problems.
(2) A 2-year-old toddler suffered stuffy nose, running eyes, shortness of breath, wheezing, excessive drooling and grinding teeth. After each treatment, the toddler was able to breathe without wheezing, his stuffy, running nose, drooling subsided and grinding teeth were hardly noticeable.
(3) An 11-year-old boy frequently experienced Asthma, Bronchitis, Sinusitis like symptoms. He was on Antibiotics and Puffers for years. The symptoms aggregated during physical activities. As a result, he missed many school days. After two months of treatments, he was nearly symptom free and off his medications. He regularly attended school and enjoyed the activities.
