Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy
What is Myofascial Trigger Point?
Myofascial trigger points (also known as muscle knots) are concern patches of polluted tissues become tight bands within the muscles that cause pain, tingling, numbness, weakness, and many other unpleasant sensations.
Any part of muscles in the human body could develop trigger points. You may have many trigger points but you may only feel a few.
Myofascial trigger points could range from painless to agonizing and to intolerable stabling like pain.
The ones you feel and give you pain are called active trigger points. The ones you feel only when you put pressure on it are called latent trigger points.
About Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy
Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy has been around for many years. It was further developed and completed by Janet Travell, MD and David Simons, MD whom devoted their careers and life to the concept of Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, which benefits millions of people.
Most people who have come to visit PlaceToHeal with active trigger points have given them all sorts of problems. Good thing is that trigger points are not always active all at once; otherwise, one could hardly imagine what that person’s life would be like.
Myofascial Pain Syndromes or Fibromyalgia are commonly associated with trigger points and may be undiagnosed sources, you have pain but with lack of explanations.
Are trigger point same as acupressure point?
Trigger points differ from acupressure points. Acupressure points are within the network of energy and are a life force with remarkable natural healing abilities and actually help to fight the problems caused by trigger points.
