It depends on individual’s cases. A thorough assessment will be

Are treatments painful?

Most forms of therapy are not painful but in fact, are very
relaxing and pleasant such as Myofascial Release, Craniosacral
Therapy, Lymphatic Therapy and Massage Therapy, which are gentle hands

There will be an experience of some sensations which, are considered as signs of release.

Other forms of therapy more produce the sensations and pain, such
as Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy and Deep Tissue Massage that could
reproduce the symptoms you have experienced.

I have a number of conditions being diagnosed; I wonder if I will ever get better?

Myofascial trigger points and restrictions in
myofascial system and craniosacral system could produce symptoms
like many diagnoses out there.

Why do you treat the areas not with the problems but somewhere else?

You may expect that the areas having the symptoms are the areas
need work in hope of having immediately relief, that may work for some
situations but it does not work for many cases.

PlaceToHeal is not trying to mask the symptoms that will more
likely give temporary relief.  The intention is to find what the
causes of these symptoms are and treat the causes in order to give

How does posture affect my health?

Posture expressing as “the attitude of the body”.

Good posture helps the muscles and bones in good alignment, work
together in harmony, protecting the body from injuries and slowing down
the progress of deformity.

Poor posture resulting in misalignment of various body parts that
could create an environment for developing knots; blockages and
restrictions that cause chronic pain or susceptible to injuries.

It could put pressure on other systems due to increased strained
misalignment and also it could affect the functions of internal organs.

Several manual therapy techniques intend to correct misalignments in order to relieve the symptoms.

Poor posture could result from injuries or habits. Keep with good posture and it would benefit you in the long run.

Do I need to do stretching or strengthening after the treatments?

Strengthening is not recommended unless your problems in muscular are resolved. Stretching is helpful if you do it properly.

People may think they need to do some strengthening work because of
their weak muscles or pain.  This may not be the case, it could
worsen the problems.

PlaceToHeal often apply therapy first to remove the cause to the
weakness or pain and you can do strengthening after but you do not have
to. Top

How do I do stretching properly?

It would help you to increase the healing process if you do it
correctly.  The stretching is not recommended you do it on your own
because if the stretching is too aggressive it could be harmful.

If you would like to do some stretch excises, We would like to
demonstrate to you with some form of soft and gentle myofascial stretch
incorporated with your breathing.  Top

Should I apply ice or heat after the treatments?

Ice is not recommended unless for specific situations such as swelling or inflammations.

For most chronic issues, heating pads or warm bath would be more of friendly to assist healing.

Whether to apply ice or heat will be advised, but if you are not so
sure, then better not applying neither ice nor heat because it could
flare up the symptoms it its not make proper choices. Top

Why am I feeling some sensations after the treatments?

Most of them feel good, lighter, relaxed and rejuvenated, but for
some small percentage of people may feel some muscular ‘after effects’
such as muscle tenderness, twitching, tingling, light headed, etc.

These may indicate your tissues imbalance has been altered by the
treatments and your body is relearning some new balance. Sometimes
the symptoms may reproduced and not go away completely.

Other times are indications that your body’s healing process may still carry on and work on its own.

These symptoms usually are temporary and go away after a day or
two.  If the sensations persist, then usually it will be addressed
on the following treatment. Top

What are your recommendations after the treatments?

Because these therapies have the effect of detoxification of your
body, drink a lot of water and taking Epson salt baths could help you
relax and continue the process of detoxification.

Avoid vigorous activities or exercises; it would be preferable taking a break on that until the problems are resolved.

Resting and relaxation would be better for your body’s healing process. Top

How do I dress for the treatments?

Soft, stretchable and comfortable clothes with cotton material are preferred.

For Craniosacral Therapy, Chinese Massage Therapy, Myofascial
Trigger Point Therapy and Deep Tissue Massage Therapy can be work
through the clothing or sheet. Top

For some forms of therapy such as Lymphatic therapy and Myofascial
release preferable to work on the skin. It will be partially undressing
but you will be draped with a sheet so that only to expose the areas
need be worn on. Top

Am I expected to talk during the treatments?

Depending what kinds of therapies or techniques you receive, for
some of them such as Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, deep tissue
massage or some forms of Massage therapy, it would better to have close
communication with your therapist about what you are experiencing to
help make the treatments more effective.

Other forms of therapy do not require talking. You need to learn
relaxing and let go of your tension, such as Myofascial Release and
Craniosacral Therapy.  You can report to me what you have
experienced after.
