Hip pain is the pain felt in or around the hip area.  The hip joint is very large yet fairly stable and a weight bearing joint.  Body weight contributes a portion of the force to the joint; while the force is also being put on due to the muscle contraction around the joint may produce hip pain.

Hip pain could result from a number of factors, the problems with nerves, bones, joints however, one of the common causes of hip pain is from muscular dysfunctions include other soft tissues around the hip or distal from the hip.

Hip pain can range from minor discomfort to disabling, from minor aches to sharp pain.  Beside hip pain, other symptoms may also present such as burning, numbness, tingling, weakness, stiffness, or pain shooting to the leg or foot.  Hip pain may happen suddenly or chronically, pain repeatedly or comes and goes.

Acute Hip Pain

Acute hip pain refers to sudden onset with short term life usually due to an injury, trauma, accident, improper lifting or strenuous physical effort.  Acute hip pain may characterize by having sharp pain, spasm, swelling, inflammation, and hot or burning sensations.

Acute hip pain sometimes happens with no apparent reasons, in these cases, the sudden onset of hip pain may result from its already stressed and poor condition of muscles.  Hip pain could also refer from some other part of body such as back, gluteus, groin and leg.

Chronic Hip Pain

Chronic hip pain is described long-term hip pain with deep aches, dull or burning pain.  Chronic hip pain could result from injuries, trauma, sports, or from acute hip pain led to chronic hip pain if its not treat properly at the time.

Chronic hip pain may be caused by poor posture, a sleeping position, illness, stress, and anxiety. Physical conditions that could contribute to chronic hip pain are lack of muscle tone, excessive weight, pregnancy or core stability deficiency. Chronic hip pain may also result from already stressed and poor condition of muscles.
