Most forms of therapy are not painful but in fact, are very relaxing and pleasant such as Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Lymphatic Therapy and Massage Therapy, which are gentle hands on.

There will be an experience of some sensations which, are considered as signs of release.

Other forms of therapy more produce the sensations and pain, such as Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy and Deep Tissue Massage that could reproduce the symptoms you have experienced.
